April 28th 2015 - Busy Day

I started the day by insulating the bedroom...I stapled everything
down to the half way mark so the electrician can do his stuff when
he comes next week to do rewiring for the bedroom and part of the
livingroom...Once he is done then I will finish buttoning things up...

I then went down to my food plot and limed it getting ready for
planting a new seed this year...I have videos of the deer eating the
clover in here....There isnt much but they are munching it down...

I then took a walk behind my tree stand to see what was done with the logging...
It is really open back there...

This video will actually make more sense...

I then moved down to my shooting lane and shot my 9mm pistol and
my 17mm rifle...Getting better...Just need to remember to exhale, and squeeze
the trigger and to not jerk it...

I finished my work day by starting to clean up my north ridge...The DEC showed
up today and he gve me a few ideas as to how I can move forward with taking
this ridge down and making a pasture out of it but I dont know if I will do it
now or not...Lots of paperwork to file...So Im movnig forward wth cleaning up
the debris to make it look better by burning the debris after the May 15 start
date...Doing it by hand will take some time but thats ok...

I completed my day by relaxing by the fire pit with a "flavored beer"...

April 27th 2015 - Logroad Clean-Up

The electrician showed up today and we are all set with rewiring
the bedroom and livingroom starting next week...He gave me
some suggestions about my service panel upgrade but will have
to wait on that task...

After doing a little tidying up I went up to the logroad to see if it was
drivable with my truck and not surprised it was...

So I spent the rest of the day cleaning up all the log roads...Carol & Dons,
Charlie and Vi's and ours...All are now ready to go for the upcoming year...
And ready for Billie to come down and start to log...

I recovered film from my trail cameras and we have a bunch of does
and yearlings coming around...I have yet to see a buck!

April 26th 2015 - Master Bedroom: Cleaned And Ready To Insulate!

Today I got all the baseboards removed along with the
remaining sheetrock...Did a clean up of the trash and then
vacuumed all the cavities and the floor...

Now we are ready for the electrician to come tomorrow
and then I can start to insulate!

April 25th 2015 - Day Off: Jodi's Games

Took the day off today to watch my cousin Jodi play softball and
AAU basketball...This is her 1st year plyaing modified ball...She cathes
had a great game...Threw out a runner heading to 1st from home plate
and also had a few hits...Great 1st game and they beat Fort Ann I believe
it was 12-8...

Then she ran to Hartford for her 2 AAU basketball games...They won their
1st game by 2 but then played a very tough city team and got beat...

Jodi got quite a bit of playing time and had quite a few points in
both games...

April 23rd 2015 - Master Bedroom Rehab Begins

Today I officially started tearing apart the Master
Bedroom...I got about 95% of it done...Not sure if
Ill take up the old tile or leave it and carpet over it
but I do have the baseboard to remover...

All went pretty smoothly...I did have one surpise...I
found where my Uncle Bob had written on a piece of
insulation backing that was behind a wall...Pretty cool!

April 22 2015 - Day With The Grand-Babies

Today I spent the day with my 2 grand-daughters (Anise and Brie)...
April joined me which made the day more fun...

We played cards (a made up game I did), hide and seek and other things just to pass the time since
it poured all day...The girls tried to play with us as we played Pitch...lol

 Then I got treated to "RIO"...There favorite movie and them dancing...

Brie is funny in this one...You can see her mimac the song but she gets ahead of the
"hey! hey! hey!" part...

When Dusty got home, we went out to Jerry's for dinner, arcade and
ice cream...

GREAT DAY!!

April 20th 2015 - Living Room Rehab Continues

Today was a very rainy day so I was able to
finish getting the inserted book cases out of the
wall and then went on to tear down the eastern
wall as well as the northern archway between
the living room and dining room...

With the exception of the baseboards and taking
the carpet out the living room is completely ready
for insulating and rewiring...

April 19th 2015 - Living Room Rehab Continues

The next day I went on to the western wall...Ive decided
to take the paneling out as well as the inserted book cases...

April 17th 2015 - Living Room Rehab Begins

I started the living room rehab...These pix are of the north
wall where my cousin put new windows in last summer...There
was no insulation in this house but amazingly it did well in
the extremely cold winter we had...

Now that the wall is down, its ready for insulation and rewiring
the electric to get it moderinized...There is only 1 outlet per
wall and they are all 2 pronged...

April 12th, 2015 - Playing Catch Up

Im a little behind my normal vacation blog...So let's get caught up...

As soon as I got home on the 12th, I dropped my bags right off at the
house and ran to the lot to see what our logger did over the winter...

The pix are better explained by the videos...Cutting the hemlocks like
we did really opened things up...

We lost a lot of young pines either by wind or heavy snow or both...
